The Horse Breeders and Owners Conference is a must-attend event for horse breeders, owners and riders. This “mid-winter horseman’s escape” is aHBOC_Three_Horses_logo_w_orange_third_smcelebrating its 31st anniversary this January 11-13 in Red Deer, Alberta, at the Sheraton Red Deer (previously the Capri Centre).

The Horse Breeders and Owners Conference starts at 7pm on January 11th with an "Open Barn" reception in the Exhibit Hall. This year, the “Open Barn” reception is free for anyone to attend, socialize, network and look around the equine trade show, which boasts over 60 sponsor booths.  Frank Merrill will kick off Saturday morning’s session at 8:40 am. Saturday evening provides a chance to network and socialize with wine, dessert and live entertainment provided by Albertan cowboy and singer Matt Robertson. The conference continues until Sunday afternoon, which closes with the Fred Pearce Memorial Lecture given this year by Dr. Temple Grandin.

Tickets for the Horse Breeders and Owners Conference are $105, $90 for additional registrants when pre-registering.  Registration can be done online at www.albertahorseindustry.ca. Registrations will also be accepted at the door for $105 a person.

The pre-conference Stable Owners Seminar begins at 1:00 on January 11th and is an afternoon of education specifically geared towards the stable industry. The seminar is $25 at the door. It is free for 2013 ASI participating stables and free for those who have pre-registered for the conference.
