Her name may tell you otherwise, but She's Italian is pure Alberta-bred. Bred and raised by Max Gibb on his Millarville farm, trainer Doug MacDonald initially thought her too small to be a contender on the track, but the little filly proved otherwise.

By the end of the 2006 season, she’d won just under $155,000, capturing six of 11 races entered including two stakes races, the Alberta Oaks and Chariot Handicap. In the spring of 2007, She’s Italian was awarded “Champion 3 Year Old Filly” and “Champion Alberta Bred” by the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society. As a four year old in 2007, she again excelled, winning four of her eight starts, and placing or showing in three of the others. Her 2007 earnings have exceeded 2006 at over $167,000, and this doesn’t include the bonuses awarded to Alberta-bred horses. She’s Italian shows no signs of retiring her racing colours just yet but, when she does, she’s sure to produce a long line of future Alberta-bred champions.
