Livestock Identification Services Ltd. (LIS) is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Postlewaite will be assuming the position of Chief Operating Officer of LIS effective immediately.

As a strong business leader, Mr. Postlewaite comes to LIS from his own consulting company, Two Arrow Consulting where he has most recently been involved with an Agribusiness consulting firm as Director-Operations; consulted on business development opportunities with a paramedical services company and held the position as interim VP-Operations for a custom fabrication and manufacturing firm. Before starting his own consulting company, Scott was President of the Canadian Division of Walco Canada Animal Health Inc. and Western Veterinary Supplies Ltd.

Scott was born and raised in Alberta and is presently living on his family ranch. He brings to LIS a broad range of multi-species livestock experience from working within all facets of animal agriculture and livestock identification for over 20 years, with a strong emphasis on cattle production. Many years of calling directly on farms and ranches has allowed him the opportunity to build long term relationships with many grass roots cattlemen as well as corporate agribusiness leaders. These relationships extend from the livestock producer level to government and national/international corporate boardrooms. His personal experience ranges from branding cattle and riding pens in the feedlot to strategic planning, policy development and implementation, and execution of multi-million dollar livestock related programs.

“The Board of Directors is confident that with this appointment LIS has both the leadership and staff to build on its existing strengths and services to ensure its continued and future value to the livestock industry in Alberta and Canada”, commented Phil Rowland, Chair LIS Board of Directors.

“I am deeply honored and pleased to have the opportunity to work with the LIS head office staff, the Livestock Inspectors, the Board of Directors, and Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development as the incoming Chief Operating Officer”, Scott Postlewaite said.

Livestock Identification Services Ltd. is an industry owned not-for-profit company that is the delegated authority of the Alberta Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development under the Livestock Identification and Commerce Act and the Stray Animal Act. LIS is responsible for administering and enforcing these two Acts and, in addition to its regulatory responsibilities, LIS provides other valuable services to the livestock industry. LIS operates at a provincial and national level, and is actively involved in the development and advancement of new services for the benefit of livestock producers both in Alberta and Canada.
