Since 2007, the Horse Industry Association of Alberta has been providing educational exhibits at events for school children and the public. These exhibits are intended to educate on the basics of horses and horse care. The current exhibit has the following educational modules:
Life Cycle: gestation to birth, birth to maturity, maturity to end of life, heights of horses of different types and stages of life
Gaits of the Horse: four basic gaits, tracks/hoof print patterns, hoof care, shoeing
Clothing & Shelter: varying needs of horses, types of shelter, types of clothing (including natural hair coat)
Nutrition & Digestion: feed, water, digestive system, body condition scoring
Manure Management: manure handling, storage and composting
Past exhibits have included the Spruce Meadows National, Farmfair and Stampede's Aggie Days.
